PRODUCTION LEAD
‘The Hive,’ as it’s affectionately known, is an event design company, born out of the desire to create fresh and inspired design. The Hive’s clients represent seasoned planners, imaginative brides, and cost-conscious non-profit organizations.
The Production Lead supervises the event crew, supports the management team, works hand-in-hand with the Production Manager and interacts with all other team members. Responsibilities include:
- Maintain professional and healthy relationships with all clients, management, and coworkers
- Champion each assigned event by:
- Attending weekly production meetings held on Wednesdays to learn vital details for upcoming events
- Raising questions where necessary and identifying areas of concern to management team
- Learning venue critical details
- Supervise Event Production Crew
- Understanding event layouts
- Tracking crew hours
- Tracking inventory through entire process
- Reporting and log inventory damages
- Ensuring inventory meets company standards while on site
- Upholding a high level of professionalism in communication and appearance
- Provide feedback to Production Manager regarding performance and any plans for performance enhancement with individual employees
- Have the ability to confidently drive box trucks up to 26.’ Training is provided
- A Production Lead must:
- Be confident in leading and encouraging teams
- Have flexible availability (hours tend to be during the day and late at night, weekends and weekdays). Wednesdays are a must!
- Have superior problem-solving skills
- Display initiative
- Hold a sense of urgency for established timelines
- Be able to regularly team lift and move 100+ pounds. (This is a very physically demanding position- no gym membership needed anymore!)
- Be gentle and mindful while handling inventory
- Be reliable
Shifts will include travel in town and OUT OF TOWN for overnight shifts which will have hotel nights and meals included. Employees drive box trucks, cargo vans or rental car to events. Must have a valid Driver's License. Must be able to travel for up to 7 nights out of town (most events are a couple days). Prior event production (set up & tear down) and leading a team is a must. This position will require an organized and effective leader capable of taking direction from our design team and Executive Producer on timelines, inventory and travel then making it happen on site.
