Position: Project Designer
Type: 1099 Independent Contractor
Pay: Commission / $25,000->$200,000 per year with room to grow.

Role:
At Bright Home Landscapes, an Independent Contract Project Designer is responsible for bringing to life a client’s dream backyard through a computer-aided design software and assisting Project Managers in the process of construction. In this position, the Project Designer provides clients with professional suggestions in design creation, accurate estimates based on property measurements, and quality installation of materials. Project Designers are responsible for guiding clients through the process of construction from the creation of the design all the way to the finished installation.
Responsibilities:
- Creating conceptual landscape 2D and 3D designs through a computer-aided design software
- Accurately estimate cost of construction, price out materials, and formulate project proposals
- Knowledge of construction products and materials utilized at this company
- Professional and thorough communication with potential clients, crews, and vendors
- Meet with homeowners at pre-set appointments, assess client needs, and measure client’s property
- Schedule follow up appointments with clients
- Professionally present and close detailed project proposals
- Assist clients with material information, demonstrations, and retrieving materials from vendors
- Collect payments and money handling through company’s standard procedures
- Reporting back to the office and updating management with client status and project details
Qualifications:
- Detailed and organized
- Experience designing hardscapes preferred
- Must have mode of transportation and a laptop capable of design software compatibility
- Computer literate
- Time management and personal accountability
- Pride in quality of work
- HIS license (can acquire during training)
- Proven experience in landscape design with a strong portfolio.
- Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of local plants and climate considerations.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Skills Required:
- Positive and professional attitude; strong people skills
- Sales experience required with home improvement or similar industry preferred
- Solid presentation, written, and oral communication
- Basic drawing and math capabilities
Experience:
- Landscape design: 1 year preferred, but not required
- Microsoft Office preferred; Excel and Word required
- Sales experience: 2 year required
The following experience would be considered a plus - renovation - remodel - landscaping -landscape design - sales
