South Post Oak Recycling Center (SPORC) is a Houston based metals and electronics recycling business. SPORC is also a family owned and operated business since 1994. We recycle and buy metals such as aluminum, brass, copper, alloys, stainless steel, and electronics which are all sorted and processed on site. We are seeking a Marketing Specialist with a focus on traditional marketing. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies and campaigns using traditional channels to drive brand awareness, customer engagement, and business growth. This role requires a strong understanding of traditional marketing techniques, consumer behavior, and market trends.
Job Responsibilities:
- Plan, execute, and monitor marketing campaigns using traditional media such as print, television, radio, outdoor advertising, and direct mail.
- Build, manage and execute marketing strategy aligned with company goals and objectives.
- Develop compelling marketing content, such as ad copy, scripts, and promotional materials.
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify target audiences, consumer preferences, and industry trends to inform marketing strategies.
- Maintain brand consistency across all traditional marketing efforts, ensuring adherence to brand guidelines.
- Customer & Prospect engagement and value creation via newsletter development and management
- Manage B2C mail campaign strategy
- Negotiate with media vendors and agencies to secure ad placements and airtime for the best possible rates and reach.
- Social Media management - to include content creation, posting & engaging & interacting with existing and future customers.
- Analyze the performance of marketing campaigns and initiatives, providing insightful reports and recommendations for optimization.
- External Communication/PR Managing our PR presence – to include ongoing communication with media outlets. Some of which we already have connections with. Others need to be built and nurtured.
- Analytics tracking and reporting Establish KPIs & report out on them on a regular basis
Requirements
What we are looking for: Ideal candidate will oversee, coordinate and implement marketing & PR plans and programs to help increase knowledge and awareness for a growing recycling company that is expanding its business-to-business footprint. You will lead inhouse Marketing & PR efforts across departments. You will take the lead in executing target market strategies, editorial calendars, print and digital “story telling”, simple video production (for newsletters and social media) and tracking analytics. We are looking for an energetic, self-starter who is comfortable taking the initiative to increase awareness of our programs. This job may require travel around the Houston area. Reliable transportation a must. Bilingual (English/ Spanish) preferred.
- Bachelor's (Required) in Marketing or similar field
- Marketing: 5 years (Required) with corporation or ad agency
- 3-5 years of executing marketing & PR strategies with experience in both traditional and online marketing
- Ability to work across teams to create effective strategies and annual editorial calendars
- Strong communication (written and interpersonal) with attention to detail
- Proficiency in brand awareness, email marketing, SEO, content marketing, digital display, video, and social media marketing
- Familiarity with Pay Per Click Campaign & Analytics
- Proficient with content creation (email, social media, print, website)
- Ability to analyze marketing activity, identify new trends and areas for improvement
- Familiarity with the basics of print design
- Experience managing budgets with measurable ROI or A/B testing
