Location: Vineland, New Jersey
Travel Requirements: While this position will not require frequent travel, it is expected that the chosen applicant be onsite in South Carolina to train for 4-6 weeks ahead of assuming the role in the satellite facility.
Objective: The FSQA Manager is responsible for providing leadership and driving food safety and quality strategies to mitigate food safety risk through implementation of prerequisite programs and food safety preventive controls.

Job Responsibilities:*
- Responsible for managing and upkeep of a companywide food safety plan and food safety system to ensure that all products are manufactured in compliance with federal, state and customer driven food safety requirements.
- Partner with onsite FSQA and processing management to formulate, improving, and implementing food safety company policies, operating procedures, and goals as set by the SC location.
- Responsible for performing routine facility and sanitation audits, providing feedback, following up on identified issues, and effectively communicating resolutions.
- Participate in various regulatory, 3rd party, and customer audits and ensure facility is in compliance with all federal, state, and local requirements.
- Ensure customer requirements are met and the company is not exposed to liability related to the quality and safety of our products.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with regulatory authorities, industry trade groups, suppliers, external customers, and internal customers.
- Assist in reviewing technical problems, procedures, and product specifications of suppliers, as well as recommend solutions to problems/changes in procedures.
- Coordinate samples with designated departments and handle shipment of said samples
- Comply with all recordkeeping standards as outlined by federal, state, and customer requirements, and be able to provide documentation upon request either during an audit, in response to a customer request, or a business need.
- Perform traces regularly for required production runs
- Perform supply and chemical inventories once per month
- Utilize Redzone to support production, as well as create and conduct frequent audits and checks.
- Update Azzule Database and share audits with specific customers weekly
- Provide incoming raw quality performance results to Quality Director
- Submit KPI reports per customer requirements to Quality Director.
- Assist with foreign material investigations, quality incident investigations, and non-conformities for root cause and corrective action plan
- Ensure all personnel in all departments are adhering to policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or direct experience relating to FSQA required.
- 5+ years’ experience in food production facility or government agency specifically regulating food processors or growers.
- Strong leadership skills that inspire team confidence and respect while motivating team members in a creative and effective manner.
- Strong foundation in food microbiology and sanitation practices through training and/or years of direct experience.
- Understanding of Food Safety regulations laws and best practices (FDA, USDA, GFSI, etc.).
- Ability to obtain HACCP and PCQI certification required within first 3 to 6 months. Prior completion of HACCP and/or PCQI training/certification is a plus.
- Experience in hygienic equipment design is a plus.
- Proven problem solving and project management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong computer skills using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and a plus to have experience using Azzule as well as an ERP system such as LinkFresh or SAP
- Position requires proven ability to effectively interface with all levels of management, technical and administrative staff
- Must be detail-oriented and enjoy a dynamic ever-changing environment.
- Must have a desire for achieving excellence in customer satisfaction, process and product quality and reliability.
- Willing to travel on occasion to visit suppliers/customers and attend industry trade shows/events (<20%)
Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
