Area Residential Care (ARC) is hiring for our Education Specialist opening. Area Residential Care has been around for over 50 years providing support to individuals with intellectual disabilities in residential and day services settings. The QA Admissions Coordinator provides training to employees to successfully support our consumers in their daily living and enable them to achieve their highest quality of life.
Schedule: Typically, M- F 8:00am - 4:30pm (Flexible times)
Wage: $18.56 – $22.27 / Hour dependent on schooling and prior experience

We are seeking a passionate person with flexibility, strong attention to detail, and effective task prioritization to develop pre-service training, enrichment training, training fairs, tracks the training status of each employee, and maintains training files for compliance. The Education Specialist will travel to agency residences to observe staff performance and will provide guidance and feedback to both new and veteran staff.
Qualified candidates will have:
- An associate degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related human services field is preferred; equivalent education and experience may be considered
- Demonstrated ability to train others
- Experience providing direct support, prompts, etc…
- Professional communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Office 365
- Familiarity with learning management systems, i.e. Relias
- Valid driver’s license and driving record that meets agency authorized driver criteria
Highly qualified candidates will have:
- A bachelor’s degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related human services field
- Previous experience working with adult individuals with intellectual disabilities
- Current certification as a CPR/First Aid and/or Nonviolent Crisis Intervention trainer is highly desirable (Trainer certification in these topics will be provided if needed)
- Evidence of success in working with adult learners
The selected candidate is required to successfully complete a background check, a pre-employment physical and drug screen as a condition of employment.
