Job Summary:
Kamps has an immediate opening for a Millwright Supervisor for our Dillwyn, Virginia sawmill/cut line operations. The ideal candidate will need 5 plus years’ experience in heavy industrial manufacturing maintenance. This position will be responsible for the oversight of preventative maintenance, training, and safety aspects of our maintenance operations. This position reports directly to plant management about issues and upgrades needed to ensure safe and productive operations.
- Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance practices, including preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance plans, to optimize equipment reliability and minimize downtime
- Coordinate the maintenance and repair of all production equipment, machinery, and forklifts, prioritizing tasks based on urgency and operational needs
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical problems, utilizing advanced knowledge and skills to identify root causes and implement effective solutions
- Collaborate with production personnel and other departments to address maintenance issues, prioritize tasks, and minimize disruptions to operations
- Develop and manage the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources and timely procurement of parts, tools, and supplies
- Collaborate with external vendors, contractors, and service providers to obtain quotes, negotiate contracts, and oversee outsourced maintenance projects as needed
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards in all maintenance activities. Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and address potential hazards or risks
- Enforce safety regulations and company policies, leading by example in the use of lockout/tagout procedures, personal protective equipment (PPE), and safe work practices
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance processes, increase equipment efficiency, and reduce maintenance costs. Analyze performance metrics and KPIs to identify areas for optimization
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment manuals, maintenance schedules, and inventory levels
- Demonstrate a positive, cooperative attitude at all times

Qualifications/Skills:
- Proven experience in maintenance management or a similar leadership role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Advanced knowledge of mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and welding/fabrication techniques
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage a team
- Previous experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to use basic maintenance software
- Must have working knowledge of DOT regulations and record keeping procedures
- Familiarity with forklifts, diesel trucks, saw equipment, conveyor systems
- Solid understanding of budgeting, cost control, and procurement processes
- Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements relevant to maintenance operations
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- PLC competencies
- Must be able to carry and lift parts weighing up to 75lbs
