Journeyman Electrician/Equipment Operator
Electrical Production Services is currently seeking a Journeyman Electrician/Equipment Operator experienced in a variety of construction within the electrical industry. We are currently seeking a Journeyman Electrician to operate equipment associated with the installation and repair of underground utilities, electrical infrastructure, and restoration services. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction industry. Duties will include the ability to operate equipment including (Excavator, Skid Loader, Trencher, Bucket Truck, Digger Derrick etc.). Other duties include the transportation of material, maintaining equipment, and material inventory and assisting Project Managers in the overall management of each project. Candidates must have a valid Class A Driver’s License and DOT Health Card. Job Duties and Requirements
Experience in the operation of excavation equipment, skid loaders and other machinery.
Ability to work and operate equipment around utilities and underground infrastructure.
Communication skills with the ability to successfully collaborate with customers and team members.
Possess the ability to plan, layout, and install electrical infrastructure.
Experience with framing of equipment pads, installing pole bases, pouring, and finishing concrete.
Operational knowledge of Digger Derrick Truck.
Rigging experience for installation of light poles, generators, and electrical equipment.
Ability to grease, oil and perform daily equipment checks.
Be able to perform light duty repair and maintenance of tools and equipment.
Capable of operating tampers, core drills, saws, and other required equipment.
Proficient in restoration work and site clean-up.
Maintains company vehicles and equipment by keeping vehicles clean and washed.
Facilitates Gopher One tickets and flag sites for installation and attends Utility meets as required.
Ability to proficiently use a locator to safely identify utilities and potential safety hazards.
Understanding of prints and ability to interpret utility maps and work on web-based construction software
Promotes work safety and knowledge of setting up work safety perimeters including signage, cones, barriers, including traffic signage as required.
Supervisory skills managing a crew of one to three crew members.
Requirements:
Valid MN Class A (CDL) driver’s license
Valid DOT Medical Health Card
Physical Requirements
Perform general construction work (to include physical labor i.e. using hand tools, lifting materials on average from 50 to 100 lbs)
Ability to work in a variety of weather elements including extreme cold and heat.
Ability to work wearing required PPE including safety boots, hard hat, safety vest and safety glasses.
Possess strong communication skills with the ability to communicate with customers and subcontractors.
