As the Senior Manager, Membership you will have the opportunity to work in areas critical to the success of the Association’s membership goals:
Membership Management
- Oversee processes for acquiring new members, retaining existing members, and re-engaging lapsed members.
- Evaluate and enhance the membership experience for all new, returning and existing members.
- Support membership expansion through proactive outreach and engagement opportunities, including events and virtual networking.
Marketing & Communications
- Create and implement campaigns to acquire and retain members through various channels.
- Drive efforts to enhance the perceived value of membership.
- Ensure the effectiveness of membership materials across multiple channels: digital communications, website, SEO, social media, advertising, direct mail, e-newsletters, press releases, and promotional materials.
- Create a communications strategy to broaden AAPC awareness and positively impact the brand and membership value proposition.
- Develop effective communication materials to inform members and prospects about membership benefits and value.
- Increase visibility of member engagement opportunities through relevant promotional avenues.
- Ensure membership material on AAPC’s website and other platforms is current.
Program Management
- Manage current membership benefits programs and launch new initiatives to boost engagement.
- Identify and implement new opportunities for improved member benefits.
- Ensure and manage programming during AAPC events to engage members (new member/first time attendee luncheon, etc…)
- Work across teams to leverage existing programs and activities for member acquisition and retention.
Technology & Systems:
- Maintain the membership database, ensuring all information is accurate and up-to-date.
- Ensure that technology meets members' needs and research new systems as appropriate.
Chapter Management:
- Act as the primary contact for all local chapters.
- Collaborate with chapter leaders on recruitment and retention strategies.
Analysis & Reporting:
- Provide monthly membership reports and trend analyses to AAPC leadership.
Perform other duties as assigned.

This position is fully remote, with occasional in-person meetings in the DC-Metro area as needed. Some travel to AAPC events is also required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of experience in association membership management or related organization
- Comfortable working in a remote, work-from-home environment
- Local to the Washington DC-Metro area and able to attend in-person meetings as scheduled.
- Experience with Association Management Systems (AMS) and/or Customer Relationship Systems (CRM).
- Proficiency in email marketing systems.
- Willingness to work off-peak hours surrounding events and Awards programs.
- Ability to travel to AAPC events as required.
Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite.
- Willingness to learn and become proficient in YourMembership, WordPress, Informz and other required applications.
- Excellent interpersonal, communications and organizational skills
- Ability to execute strong member/customer service skills when working with volunteers and members
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to set priorities and manage multiple projects.
- Capable of working independently and in a collaborative team environment with a positive attitude.
