Position Description
As a Project Manager at KMS, you will be responsible for day-to-day project management and communicating with our stakeholders. Project stakeholders include but are not limited to: the client, subcontractors, consultants, and facility managers. Because of KMS's expertise in managing high volumes of projects, a Project Manager will have multiple projects under their management. Our working environment is team-oriented so the Project Manager would be expected to work closely with their Sr. Project Manager, other Project Managers, and any Asst. Project Managers on their team.
This is a hybrid position that will be partly remote but will require time in the office and travel to job sites. Our company works on a flex schedule with 3 days per week being required in the office. Tuesday and Thursday are mandatory while the third day is the team member's choice. Travel will not be more that 50% of your work schedule. Position will be based in Birmingham, AL.
Responsibilities
- Manage relationships with KMS clients, vendors, and subcontractors
- Attend meetings with project stakeholders on behalf of an owner
- Manage project bid, produce schedules, and confirm scope of project during initiation and planning phase
- Perform comparative analysis between pay applications and construction schedules during construction phase
- Create reports to organize and communicate on status of program or project
- Use KMS project management software to track and report job activity
- Travel to assigned job sites to perform routine site visits (25 - 50% of time may be spent traveling)
- Manage expectation to ensure timelines within projects are accurate and understood by customers
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- PMP preferred but not required
- 5+ years of Construction Project Management experience in commercial construction
- Leadership experience with responsibility for project results
- Creative problem solver with proven results in the improving processes in project management teams
- Proven ability to develop creative solutions that result in measurable outcomes
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail to manage multiple projects within multiple programs
- Ability to learn systems and processes quickly
- Ability to communicate complex information and recommendations in a clear, logical, understandable manner to stakeholders
- Proficiency in scheduling and estimating software (Primavera P6, etc.)
- Must be a high integrity, team player with flexibility to meet the demands of our fast paced business climate
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
