General Summary
The General Accountant is responsible for supporting the month-end close process including the accuracy and timeliness of financial statements along with review of financials with operations management.
Essential Job Functions
- Support implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
- Perform month-end close processes, book journal entries and provide appropriate detail level review and analysis.
- Fixed asset capital project tracking.
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations as assigned.
- Become a “power user” of Microsoft Dynamics Ax financial modules for general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Support annual year-end audit.
- Maintain vendor listing and ensure ISO compliance of purchasing process.
- Prepare annual property tax returns.
- Maintain and develop sales and use tax procedures and compliance.
- Assist with the processes of AP, including data entry and clerical duties.
- Cash Application, including monitoring incoming payments and ensuring they are applied correctly.
- Resolve discrepancies between customer payments and invoices.
- Work with accounting manager to provide financial consolidation and tax preparation requests.
- Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
- Establish and build effective and productive relationships within finance and other departments.
- Act as business partner with management to provide recommendations to improve month end processes, financial controls, forecasting and general analytics.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Knowledge
o GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
o General knowledge of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general accounting.
o Microsoft Office Suite – Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Skills
o Ability to analyze problem and develop meaningful solutions
o Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. (Microsoft Dynamics Ax experience preferred)
o Strong oral and written communications, conveying information effectively, modifying delivery to meet the needs of varying audiences
o Strong office equipment operation, such as personal computer, IT systems, general office machines and software such as Microsoft Office Suite
o Ten key by touch

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred; 1-3 years of progressive accounting experience required. Experience in general accounting, account reconciliations, accounts payable and accounts receivable preferred.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
