JOB SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Property Manager within the Supportive Housing department, the Property Manager assists senior property manager in ensuring current leases are under FMR for all supportive housing programs. Responsible for managing the maintenance for all supportive housing units.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
- MINIMUM: Two (2) years in leasing, property management, and negotiating rents.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists Senior Property Manager in ensuring current leases are under FMR for all supportive housing programs.
- Assist in finding suitable apartments available for rent in buildings with no current DOB or HPD violations and secure leases below FMR.
- Manage leases for all supportive housing programs, ensuring that all leases are current and below FMR.
- Compiles and maintain resource directory including landlords, brokers, and building managers; maintain positive working relationships with landlords, brokers, management companies, etc.
- Conducts inspections bi-annual/annual apartment inspections to assure adherence to Housing Quality Standards.
- Perform administrative and organizational duties such as organizing and filing leases and other paperwork.
- Collaborate with Senior Property Manager to address tenant issues that may impact agency relationships with landlords, brokers, management companies, etc.
- Coordinate with the case manager to address housing issues/needed repairs.
- Develop a welcome home flyer detailing key locations within the community where the new apartment is leased.
- Maintain records of the status of assigned units, e.g. filled, vacant, anticipated vacancy, etc.
- Responsible for uploading leases, Housing Quality Standards inspections, and welcome home flyers in client charts.
- Other related duties as assigned by the Senior Property Manager or Director of Housing.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word) and maintenance of spreadsheets.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Basic knowledge of building maintenance.
- Laws and standards that apply to property management, such as Fair Housing Laws, Landlord-Tenant Laws,
- OSHA Standards, local and state building codes.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.48 - $27.48 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 35 per week
