Overview: Riverside Collision Center is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Parts Manager to oversee the parts department in our busy autobody shop. The Parts Manager will be responsible for managing inventory, ordering parts, and ensuring timely availability of parts to support our repair operations. This role requires excellent management skills, a thorough understanding of automotive parts, and the ability to work collaboratively with technicians, service advisors, and vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management:
- Maintain an organized and accurate parts inventory.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
- Ensure the timely ordering and restocking of parts to prevent shortages.
- Implement inventory control procedures to minimize losses and obsolescence.
- Order Processing:
- Source and order parts from approved vendors and suppliers.
- Monitor order status and expedite delivery of critical parts.
- Verify accuracy of received parts and resolve any discrepancies with suppliers.
- Maintain records of all orders, invoices, and receipts.
- Customer Service:
- Assist technicians and service advisors in locating required parts.
- Provide accurate information regarding part availability, pricing, and delivery times.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Financial Management:
- Monitor parts department budget and control expenses.
- Review and approve purchase orders and invoices.
- Prepare financial reports related to parts sales and inventory.
- Team Leadership:
- Supervise and train parts department staff.
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities to ensure efficient operation.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback for improvement.
- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure all parts operations comply with company policies and industry regulations.
- Maintain a safe and clean parts department.
- Implement safety protocols and conduct regular safety training for staff.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in business, automotive technology, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in automotive parts management, preferably in a collision repair environment.
- Strong knowledge of automotive parts and inventory management systems.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in using computer software for inventory management and order processing.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Leadership experience with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
