Shipping Clerk Responsibilities:
- Verifies and keeps records on outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment.
- Performs assorted Quality Control checks on all receipts.
- Counts, measures, or weighs articles to verify contents of shipments against bills of lading, invoices, or storage receipts.
- Verifies and keeps records on outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment.
Shipping Clerk Routinely:
- Examines articles for defects and sorts articles according to extent of defect.
- Attaches identification data onto article.
- Records factors causing goods to be returned.
- Unloads and unpacks incoming shipments.
- Delivers product to correct location.
- Examines all receipts of inventory to secure such information as size and weight of product and results of quality tests.
- Inspects product to determine compliance with order specifications, company's quality control system for compliance with legal requirements, and shipping and packing facilities for conformity to specified standards.
- Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
- Enters data in the Content Management System (CMS) and inventory software to track accurate levels of inventory.
- Delivers product to correct location.
- Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.
- Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
- Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage.
- Utilizes technology for data entry and communication.
- Enters data in spreadsheets and other pertinent documents relative to performing the job.
- Meets deadlines and adjusts to changing work demands and priorities.
- Uses forklifts, manlifts, and other heavy equipment.
- Maintains clean and safe work area and removes debris to designated disposal areas.
- Participates in meetings, safety huddles, and daily information update sessions.
- Performs other job-related duties that may be assigned.
Qualifications:
- Mandatory – Valid forklift operator certificate. ZXP will train and certify the right team member.
- Prefer – Prefer bilingual in Spanish and English.
- Required – Basic computer operating skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and Windows).
- Mandatory – Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts include:
- Mechanical math aptitude.
- Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
- Complete basic common fraction calculations.
- Required Language, Writing and Reasoning – Must be proficient in the English language and able to:
- Read, write, and understand instructions and procedure manuals.
- Write routine reports and correspondence.
- Interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Speak effectively before groups of customers or Team Members.
- Interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, and schedule formats.
Physical Demand and Work Conditions:
- Routinely uses hands to finger, handle, or feel.
- Frequently lifts and or moves up to 50 pounds.
- Occasionally lifts and or moves up to 100 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities are required to perform this job. They include, but are not limited to distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Required to repair equipment in seasonal outdoor areas or warehouses that may include the use of man lifts and operating at heights, with hand tools in tight or closed spaces.
- A high volume of walking, sitting, and standing is part of the daily schedule.
- All employees are frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, machinery, and equipment, and exposure to high noise levels typical of a manufacturing plant with occasional exposure to electrical shock, fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
