Regional HSSE Technical Lead
Position Summary
Responsible for providing support to the organization to ensure a safe, healthy, and environmentally compliant workplace.
Major Roles & Responsibilities:
- Monitor and ensure compliance with HSSE regulations, standards and company policies.
- Conduct regular sites audits and inspections to identify and address potential HSSE hazards.
- Assist in the development and delivery of HSSE training programs for employees, covering topics such as 2-minutes for my safety, cardinal rules, etc.,
- Promote awareness of HSSE Policies and procedures throughout the organization.
- Respond Promptly to accidents, incidents, and emergencies, providing initial assistance and coordinating with relevant stakeholders.
- Participate in the investigation of incidents and contribute to the development of corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of HSSE-related activities, including inspections, incidents, and training sessions.
- Prepare reports on HSSE performance, incidents, and areas of improvement.
- Assist in the identification and assessment of workplace risks and hazards.
- Assists in monitoring and assessing the environmental impact of company operations.
- Assists in projects related to reducing CO2 emissions for each different sites.
- Identify areas where departments could benefit from additional HSSE related training and provide that training to strengthen skills.
- Point of contact for all Regional HSSE Processes and Improvements
- Interface with staff members internally and at other locations on interpretations to ensure global consistency with direction from senior staff.
- Adhere to the requirements of the BV-CPS QHSSE System.
- Follow the guidelines set forth in the Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services, Inc Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environmental policies and procedures.
- Comply with Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services, Inc management systems in accordance with ISO 17025, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001.
- Other duties as assigned by Manager.
- Up to 25% - 30% domestic travel required. International travel is required once per year for training.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Experience with Facilitating & Participating Audit process.
- Certified with experience as an Internal Auditor.
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills – including the ability to deliver presentations / training to internal and external groups.
- Excellent organizational skills to organize / prioritize individual and team workload to meet or exceed deadlines.
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks and changing priorities in a very busy environment.
- Strong analytical / problem solving / process improvement skills including statistical analysis tools.
- Ability to lead groups of diverse people through the problem-solving process.
- Strong leadership skills to influence diverse testing areas and staff.
- Technical aptitude – the ability to assimilate and assess new information and develop plans to capitalize or react to it.
- Ability to interpret regulations and standards.
- Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation and equipment
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance concepts, processes and systems and the demonstrated ability to implement them.
- Client interaction skills: ability to work with customers, determine their requirements, define and assist in solving problems and ensure customer satisfaction with BVCPS.
- Strong math skills and working knowledge of statistical procedures.
- Medium to high level of proficiency in MS office
- Proficient with windows, word and excel including pivot charts.
- Ability to oversee large projects involving multiple sites.
- Strong technical and mechanical aptitude preferred.
- Knowledge of testing consumer products from laboratory / manufacturing / QA/ QC perspective preferred.
Experience and Educational Background Required for the Job:
- 4-year degree in technical/engineering discipline and up to 3-5 years related experience; or
- 2-year degree in technical / engineering discipline and 5-7 years related experience
- Proven experience in an HSSE role, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Detail-Oriented with the ability to conduct thorough inspections and assessments.
- ISO 9001/ISO 14001/ISO 45001 Lead Auditor certification.
Compensation Range: $100,000 - $120,000 annually (e.g., the job posting is not necessarily reflective of actual compensation that may be earned, and actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as locations, education, experience, and skillset).
