The Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, a division of American Oncology Network (AON) is seeking an experienced and compassionate RN to support their growing outpatient Hematology and Oncology clinic in Bethesda, MD.

RN Duties:
- Provide professional nursing case for hematology/oncology patients, following established AON standards and practices
- Administers chemotherapy and other therapeutic treatment drugs
- Facilitates dose modification by assessing patient and labs, consulting protocol or treatment plan, calculating dose and infusing medications and consulting physician regarding dose modifications, problems, and symptom management
- Provides triage support for patient phone calls as needed and documents relevant information in patient’s chart
- Acts as a resource for MA and LPN staff
- Assesses patient/family needs and provides teaching, instructional materials, and information about various community resources
- Cross train in the collaborative nursing area as available
- Various injections
- Port access/venous access for blood draws and/or infusions
RN QUALIFICATIONS
- Registered Nurse, licensed in MD and DC, with experience in IV therapy.
- OCN Preferred but not required, OCN differential is provided!
- Experience with hematology/oncology patients in a clinic or hospital is preferred.
- Critical thinking skills and ability to assess patient needs and condition is essential.
- Must have strong critical thinking skills, as well as the ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Current CPR & BLS certifications are required.
- Fluency in the English language with excellent oral and written communication skills is required.
