Heavy Equipment Shop Mechanic/Asset Reliability Lead
Cumberland Estates is searching for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic/asset reliability lead for our organization located in New Kent, VA. As our privately owned organization continues to grow to fulfill the vision of forward thinking, we are seeking an individual who possesses the mindset and ability to work independently to efficiently complete day to today assignments. Individual will be responsible for providing maintenance and repair for a variety of company owned heavy equipment machinery, as well as our growing vehicle and trailer fleet, to maximize uptime and minimize downtime.
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment and tools while using a high degree of independent judgment
- Maintenance and repair of vehicle and variety of trailer fleet
- Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed in a complete and timely manner on a daily basis
- Responsible for ordering and maintaining shop supplies
- Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts
- Practice safe job practices for repairing equipment
- Use technology (laptops and tablets) comfortably
- Assist in the training of lower level technicians as needed
- Asset reliability lead
- Be knowledgeable of OSHA requirements (preferred)
- Other duties, assigned as needed
Skills & Qualifications
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Tools provided as applicable to position (ownership remain with organization for tools purchased by organization)
- Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools
- Extensive knowledge of construction equipment with an advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams
- Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
- Capability to work independently
- Self motivated
- Organization and best standard practice for efficiency
- Ability to work in a team environment and follow instructions
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma, Trade school certificate preferred
- 7+ years of experience in field service, maintenance and repair
- 5-S and lean training (preferred)
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to move, stand, stoop and bend freely
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
- This is a safety sensitive position and any offer of employment will be contingent on passing a drug screen and background check
- Able to work OT as needed for specific time sensitive projects
- Willingness to work in inclement weather conditions
Hours
- 5 days a week, 8 to10 hours a day - time over 40 hours a week will be paid time and a half.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
