Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) is recruiting an Accounts Receivable Manager. The manager will report to SPU's Accounting Director/Controller within the Accounting Division of the Finance and Risk Services Branch.
The Accounts Receivable Manager position will lead a team of accounting professionals and manage day-to-day operations of SPU’s sundry and transfer station billing services. As a member of the accounting managers’ team, the incumbent is expected to support both accounting and SPU initiatives. This includes providing training to employees or customers, establishing, or improving work processes, generating reports, implementing internal controls, and responding to audits. This role also ensures that all transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner for reliable financial reports. The incumbent will also monitor and work towards achieving targets for metrics.

- Manages a team of five union and nonunion professionals with various roles and responsibilities. Supervision involves coaching, mentoring, employee development, performance management, team building, and recruitment.

Leads a fast-paced, deadline-driven, and high-volume daily processing work environment which includes month-end close, year-end close, and audits.

Oversee sundry billing and transfer station billing systems.

Experience: Requires three (3) years of professional experience in accounting, auditing, financial analysis, or related field including prior supervisory/lead experience.
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
Experience and Education Equivalency: Combinations of appropriate education, training, certification, and experience will be evaluated on an individual basis for comparability to the minimum education and experience requirements.
License, Certification, and Other Requirements: At the time of appointment must hold a valid Washington State Driver License.

Workplace Environment: This position allows for the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule. Employees will be required to come into the office twice a week. Individual schedules will be agreed upon by the employee and their supervisor.
The full salary range for this position is $48.19 - $72.23 per hour.
