Mental Health Case Manager
The Mental Health Case Manager works with adults who have primary mental health disorders and some, with potential, substance use disorders co-occurring. This position provides ongoing case management services for adults 18 years of age and older who are experiencing severe and persistent substance use problems and mental illness. This position would be ideal for someone completing their Master's program and/or needing to complete their traineeship. The Case Manager works with the Clinical Director and the client’s Primary Therapist to provide comprehensive services to clients while in treatment. This position also ensures the daily program runs on schedule, provides group facilitation, and observes and interacts with clients on a regular basis to provide support and address issues related to their treatment experience. If you are a mindfulness based/contemplative practitioner/dharma teacher, or counselor, that is a huge plus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Essential duties and responsibilities of the Dual Diagnosis Counselor include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Provides on-going support for clients who have a severe and persistent mental health problems.
- Provides counseling and case management services and completes necessary updates as required.
- Provides effective and efficient management of caseload. The number of open inactive cases must not exceed 10% of the total caseload.
- Participates in peer consultations, staff meetings, and continuing education. Counseling and case management notes and updates need supervisor’s signature. Charts need to be presented to supervisor on a regular basis.
- Facilitates referrals to appropriate internal and/or external resources where indicated.
- Provides consultation and education service to individual and community groups as requested and possible.
- Participates in program development as requested and where possible.
- May assist in training and supervision of students or staff.
- Keeps current with trends and developments related to essential job competencies, industry development, and innovation.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Education and/or Experience
Minimum of a Master's Degree in behavioral health area of focus (or working towards Master's Degree as a Trainee)
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
RGSI (Registered Graduate Student Intern) and CPR certification.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
