Job Overview
The Director of Nursing is responsible for the overall supervision, provision, and quality of nursing and supportive services in Assisted Living and Memory Care. Responsible for the selection, training, discipline and supervision for all nursing related personnel. Responsible for the procurement of appropriate supplies and equipment and operating within the departmental budget. Responsible for ensuring all residents receive exemplary care and favorable outcomes through the solid execution of daily quality standards. Responsible for the occupancy health of the community by working as a credible and collaborative member of the sales team alongside the Executive Director, Director of Sales, and others.
Duties
- Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards
- Provide leadership and guidance to nursing staff, promoting a positive work environment
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans for patients
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of nursing care provided, making recommendations for improvement as needed
- Manage staffing levels and schedules to ensure adequate coverage
- Oversee the recruitment, hiring, and training of nursing staff
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to nursing staff
- Stay up-to-date with current healthcare trends and best practices in nursing administration
Qualifications
1. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse with a current license in the state for which work is desired.
2. Two years’ experience in geriatric nursing and/or B.S. Degree in nursing. Participation in professional organizations, dealing primarily in geriatrics preferred. Minimum of two years nursing administration experience, preferably in a long term care setting.
3. Computer proficiency. Must be comfortable utilizing technology systems on a daily basis to manage resident care and tracking.
4. Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. Strong supervisory experience with multiple levels of employees, with prior management level experience required.
