The Opportunity:
This position is assigned to our Headquarter Office located in Olympia, Washington, but as WSDA embraces modern work environments and processes, this position is eligible for flexible work hours and to telework up to full-time.
Talent Acquisition
Serves as a senior level human resource consultant in recruitment, marketing, branding, and outreach. Works independently to provide consultation and advice to employees, managers and executives regarding recruitment rules, regulations and best practices:

Conducts full cycle recruitment and retention services for EMS, WMS, and classified positions.

Collaborates with managers to ensure recruitment consultation is effective and meets program needs and timelines.

Drafts job announcement intended to draw the interest of a broad and diverse field of applicants and increase the number of applications received.

Develops and implements creative and strategic marketing, branding, outreach, and sourcing initiatives. Promotes WSDA as an employer of choice that welcomes a broad, diverse pool of qualified candidates for vacant positions.

Develops, builds, and maintains successful collaborative working relationships with internal and external entities including organizations, community leaders, and individuals.

Develops and oversees talent acquisition-related Equal Employment Opportunity, Affirmative Action, and other initiatives intended to increase representation of diverse and marginalized groups within the WSDA workforce.

Screens applicants for required and desired qualifications. Recommends additional screening measures to find the most qualified candidate for the position.

Works collaboratively with hiring managers to ensure an excellent candidate experience.

Maintains knowledge and understanding of current trends and best practices in recruitment law and practice.

Conducts personnel file reviews and background checks.

Collects and maintains all recruitment records for the appropriate retention period.
Training Specialist
WSDA Training Administrator for the Washington State Learning Center (TLC) including class maintenance/creation, course maintenance/creation, determining/validating appropriate setup and access, trouble shoot end users support issues, action as the liaison between agency and DES to report system errors or issues:

Develops, updates, and presents training modules related to HR topics.

Consults with management in the identification of needed training courses and employee development.

Defines employee training needs and recommends training related solutions to address skill gaps.

Plans, organizes, and executes monthly new employee orientations.

Researches and previews training media for use in classroom or online training; facilitates training for employees statewide; accesses agency and employee training needs.

Works with managers, supervisors, and employees to provide career services guidance and assistance with referral resources services.
