Senior Blender Responsibilities:
- Supervises employees and all activities of the various oil blending tank farms in accordance with ZXPs policies and applicable laws.
- Engages in training, planning, assigning, and directing work.
- Addresses complaints and resolving issues under the supervision of the Blending Supervisor.
- Supervises quality of blend products.
- Substitutes for the Blend Supervisor when needed.
Senior Blender Routinely:
- Generates blend sheets, audits blends report for accuracy, and verifies.
- Verifies the accuracy of blending process setup and the materials used throughout blending process from start to finish.
- Samples bulk material from trucks, drums, and bags.
- Transfers product between tanks and into tanks from rail cars and trucks.
- Unloads and loads product from trucks, barges and rail cars.
- Straps tanks and updates strap reports.
- Turns valves to admit measured quantities of liquid from tank container into other tank containers.
- Records measurements and calculates total and incremental tank capacities to prepare gauging tables.
- Measures product in tanks using liquid calibration methods.
- Measurement, Tracking, and Reporting -
- Completes blend reports and other records
- Ensures ISO related tasks and associated paperwork are complete
- Fills out load in and load out reports
- Maintains blend logs
- Takes blend temperatures, samples, and records type of measurements.
- Cleans tanks and performs preventative maintenance as required by Supervisor.
- Generates deionized water and recharges unit.
- Engages in writing emails, reports, and other pertinent documents relative to performing the job.
- Writes and revises procedures as necessary or delegates.
- Uses technology, software, and hardware to write reports and enter data.
- Uses forklift to stage raw materials and unload into blend tanks.
- Maintains clean and safe work area.
- Follows all safety rules, laws, guidelines, and directives.
- Utilizes all material handling equipment safely and efficiently, performs all required safety checks and communicates need for repairs or maintenance.
- Works a flexible schedule due to product schedule and direction changes.
- Trains employees on tank farm procedures and delegates training and cross-training responsibilities.
- Reports incidents, defective materials or questionable conditions to the Senior Blender or Supervisor.
- Accepts schedule and direction changes driven by workloads.
- Attends and participates in safety huddles, mandatory safety stand-down meetings, and ongoing training sessions.
- Performs other job -related duties that may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications
- Mandatory -successfully met all requirements of a Blender I and successfully passed exam.
- Minimum High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Basic math skills to include:
- Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
- Complete basic common fraction calculations.
- Compute rate, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Convert gallons/grams/liters and pounds per gallon.
- Understand and apply basic concepts of algebra and geometry.
- Language, Writing and Reasoning
Must be proficient in the English language and able to:
- Read, write, and understand instructions and procedure manuals.
- Write routine reports and correspondence.
- Interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Speak effectively before groups of customers or Team Members.
- Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
- Interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, and schedule formats.
- Basic Computer Operating Skills required include both Word processing software and Spreadsheet software.
Physical Demand and Work Conditions:
- Senior Blenders engage in a high volume of walking, sitting, and standing as part of their daily schedule at ZXP.
- Senior Blenders
- Are required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
- Frequently stand, walk, climb or balance themselves as well as reach with their hands, arms, and feet.
- Occasionally sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and use the sense of smell.
- Frequently talks and listens.
- Frequently lifts and/or moves up to Ten (10) pounds.
- Occasionally lifts and/or moves more than 100 pounds.
- Require specific vision abilities to perform this job. They include, but are not limited to distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- All ZXP employees are exposed to weather conditions consistent with the Texas region. Also, frequent exposure to moving equipment, and high noise levels typical of a manufacturing plant with occasional exposure to electrical shock, fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals is expected.
