As a Project Engineer at Locke Solutions, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating various aspects of projects related to design, planning, production, and documentation. This role requires a hands-on approach, excellent technical skills, and the ability to manage multiple objectives simultaneously while ensuring they are completed on time, to the highest quality standards, and with customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Management:
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, schedules, and action items.
- Monitor project progress, ensuring compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements.
- Maintain project schedules, adjusting plans as necessary to meet goals.
Design and Engineering:
- Provide technical support and guidance on precast concrete design and manufacturing.
- Conduct structural analysis and calculations to ensure the integrity and safety of precast elements.
- Collaborate with the design team to develop detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
- Review and approve engineering plans, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including contracts, plans, specifications, and testing records.
- Prepare and present regular project status reports to management and customers.
- Ensure all project-related documents are organized, accurate, and up to date.
Communication and Coordination
- Serve as primary point of contact for customers, and internal teams to ensure seamless execution.
- Facilitate communication between all parties involved in the project.
- Provide regular updates and reports on project progress.
Technical Support:
- Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams.
- Troubleshoot and resolve engineering-related issues during the design and manufacturing process.
- Assist in the development and improvement of manufacturing processes and techniques.
Successful Results:
- Manage and coordinate the daily milestones of the project with the team.
- Maintain project documentation accuracy throughout the life of the project, including document creation, submittals, returns, and RFIs.
- Provided concise and timely status reports during the project life cycle to key personnel about strategy, changes, and progress.
- Ensure each of our customers feel as if their project is Locke’s most important project.
- Effectively communicate project goals to the sales and project team to ensure proper execution of each project.
- Represents the company fairly and consistently when interacting with the customer.
- Cost reductions through communication, planning, cooperation and purchasing.
- Cultivate relationships with existing customers through successful project delivery.
- Quality and cost of rework analysis

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project engineering.

Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering design tools.

Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and standards related to precast concrete.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
