JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: LPN/Triage
RESPONSIBLE TO: Practice Director
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assists in creating and updating all clinical protocols. Collaborates with Practice Director regarding same. Communicates same to all clinical staff members.
Receive and respond to inquiries from patients, physicians, health care workers etc. regarding patient care under the direction of the physician. Collaborate with physician regarding same.
Document, maintain, and update all information related to patient care.
Assist in Reviewing all H&Ps for patients scheduled for surgery. Review consults and documentation from collaborating providers and updates/informs surgery regarding same.
Assist in reviewing and notify physician regarding incoming results related to surgery. Collaborate with physicians regarding same. Follow up on results based on direction of physician.
Collaborate with PCPs, anesthesia, and surgery facility staff under the direction of physician, related to patient care peri-operatively. Correspond and document all activity related to same.
Assist in keeping updated information for flow of pre-surgery information for continuity of care (ie next triage nurse) in surgical book planner.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
Assist staff nurse/MA with rooming patients prior to exam by physician as needed. Record a brief history from patient.
Assist with all functions in the clinical area related to patient care as needed by the staff nurse/MA/physicians.
Apply splints under the direction of the physician as needed.
Provide input/updates for clinical staff meetings related to position responsibilities
Other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Current, active LPN licensure in the State of Ohio.
Current CPR certification.
Attention to detail for accuracy.
Ability to accurately manage several tasks at one time.
Flexibility to adapt to different approaches to similar tasks.
Excellent customer service skills.
Teamwork skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Long periods of sitting, standing and walking briskly.
Full body range of motion including standing, walking, sitting, bending, climbing
stairs, frequent changes in position, lifting/carrying items weighing up to 50#’s.
Ability to lift and transfer patients.
Ability to work under stress.
Corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
Ability to speak clearly, write legibly and communicate effectively.
