This role is pivotal in our ongoing dedication to delivering top-tier engineering solutions for electric utility transmission and distribution systems, encompassing voltage levels ranging from 5 kV to 765 kV. The ideal candidate will spearhead project engineering and design for substation initiatives, guiding them from inception through meticulous design phases to final construction.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the detailed design of substation projects and/or protection & control initiatives.
- Craft, refine, and adapt one and three-line diagrams, protective relaying & control schematic/elementary drawings, AC & DC schematics, wiring diagrams, panel front views, equipment layout/sections, cable & conduit schedules, SCADA, and bills of material in alignment with relevant Utility Client Procedures.
- Generate calculations for studies and reports, including but not limited to AC & DC system sizing, conduit fill, voltage drop, CT saturation, and Arc Flash assessments.
- Develop equipment specifications for procurement purposes.
- Conduct rigorous quality assurance evaluations of substation project documentation.
- Ensure strict adherence to all Utility Client Procedures, encompassing CAD standards and documentation formatting.
- Supervise the project execution team, comprising junior engineers, designers, and drafters.
- Foster effective and professional communication with project teams, client representatives, and stakeholders.
- Guarantee punctual project delivery within budget constraints and uphold uncompromising quality standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
- Possession of a Professional Engineering (PE) License.
- A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in utility substation design and protection & controls.
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication, demonstrating clarity and precision.
- Experience in developing relay settings is advantageous.
- Familiarity with ETAP, ASPEN, or PSEE software platforms is a plus.
