Avanti Mansion in Buffalo, NY is looking for an Event Manager to join our team! We were voted "Buffalo's Best Wedding Venue" by Channel 4 News viewers. Our wedding-focused catering and special events company is seeking hard-working, fun person to join our team. Our ideal candidate is attentive, ambitious, reliable, a team-player, and will fit into our company culture seamlessly. The Event Manager will work with the other Event Managers to ensure all operational aspects of running events are taken care of. Must be available Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights during peak event season (Summer & Fall).
Pay starts at $22.00 per hour. Pay is negotiable based on experience. Start date ASAP. We are looking for the perfect candidate that will fit into our current company culture.

This is a full time position that will have multiple roles based on our event schedule and time of the year. Main roles include: Event Manager, Beverage and Rentals Manager, Set-Up Crew Supervision. Ideal candidate is willing to pitch in wherever needed on occasion!
MUST be available Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons and evenings.
Responsibilities during peak season (Summer & Fall)
- Execution of all events as contracted, according to the provided Event Worksheet.
- Oversee service staff for each event - including FOH staff (servers, bartenders) cleaning crew, and set-up crew.
- Train staff.
- Maintain the positive team atmosphere within the departments.
- Supervise setup and clean up of each event assigned.
- Run and execute Ceremony Rehearsals for upcoming events.
- Ensure all client and guest needs are met and/or exceeded and be able to handle any issues that may arise.
- Weekly inventory of beverage, bar, liquor, and linens and subsequent ordering of items needed.
- Maintain a positive attitude and company culture within the FOH (Front of House) staff.
- Work with the other Event Managers to help prep for the next day's event.
Responsibilities during off-season (Winter & Spring)
- All of the above
- Brainstorming new items offered and services that can be integrated into future menus
- Help create/update better systems and procedures for FOH staff
- Organize, take inventory, and order rental items, display pieces, barware, glassware, and other items as needed
- Other tasks as needed - looking for a team player who doesn't mind pitching in wherever needed!
Qualifications
- Previous Beverage Manager, Banquet Serving experience preferred
- Soft skills a MUST (handle conflict peacefully, good communication, stick to timelines, attention to detail, multi-task, etc.)
- Able to work under high stress situations with a calm demeanor
- Proven ability to perform all positions in banquet operations in order to supervise, direct and train personnel.
- Able to walk and stand for long periods of time. Lift and carry 50lbs. Balance and walk with heavy trays.
