Aquatech has an immediate need for a fulltime Estimation Engineer to work in our Houston, TX location. The hours are Monday – Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm. The Estimation Engineer will perform the duties described in the job description below and will be considered an Exempt employee.
The ideal candidate will an expert with costing and have knowledge of sizing/selection of industrial equipment/instruments. The candidate will be technically solid with engineering programs and also have experience in waste water piping preferred.
Minimum Qualifications / Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- Minimum Three (3) or more years of experience working as an engineer

Understanding of water treatment process equipment units

Understanding of rotating equipment, valves, instrumentation, fabricated equipment, etc.

In-depth knowledge of various factors that can impact the overall cost of a particular pience of equipment including size, material(s) of construction, certification/approval requirements, inspection and testing requirements, sourcing restrictions, etc.
Job Description:

Generate proposal specific costing files
-
Obtaining vendor quotations and work in conjunction with the Application Engineers during the proposal development stage

Cross check quotations during the proposal development stage against project specifications and confirm compliance or request revisions from vendor.

Estimation of piping, cable, trayr conduit, etc

Create prodject budget files for new projects

Maintain proposal database

Ability to navigate and interpret customer specifications, identify keys items which would have significgant cost impact and apply these to equipment selection when necessary.

Developing equipment RFQs and cross checking supplier quotations against customer specifications to ensure compliance.

Identify and take advantage of cost-saving opportunities through design optimization of engineering equipment.
