ABC General and Mechanical is a government contractor providing general and mechanical contracting to the United States Government. This position is for a Assistant Project Manager to assist with general and mechanical contracting projects in Metro area. Applicants would primarily work from office but would need to attend meetings and job walks in other locations, primarily Frederick, MD.
Job Description
- review drawings and specifications prior to bidding a project.
- attend site walks, take pictures and formulate pre-bid questions.
- assist estimators with sending out invitations to bid for subcontractors, distribute contract documents and evaluate proposals.
- assist Project Manager from award to project acceptance ranging in size from $150k to $3 million for government clients.
- issue RFIs, log responses, and maintain project folders.
- draft change order proposals.
- assist in preparing subcontracts, schedules and safety submittals.
- work with QC manager to ensure quality control process is implemented.
- interact with client and subcontractors in a professional manner to execute projects.
Candidate Minimum Qualifications:
- 3 years of construction administrative experience>.
- Ability to multi-task and oversee more than one project at a time.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations, government specifications.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
- Execute projects and monitor profitability of a project.
- Ability to use computer, proficiency in Excel, Adobe and Word.
