Responsibilities:
Prepare and provide training and instruction to students with disabilities.
Motivate students to develop skills in assigned subject matters.
Monitor progress in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Assess and evaluate needs of students; maintain appropriate records; prepare progress reports.
Translate lesson plans into learning experiences based on the needs and abilities of students.
Provide positive role model to students and demonstrate appropriate behavior and socialization skills.
Assist with the formulation and implementation of behavior modification programs.
Participate in various groups, meetings and committees.
Facilitate communication between various groups on behalf of the client or student.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in teaching, or a related field working with children.
Experience working in a multi-cultural setting and with diverse groups of people preferred.
Ability to deliver articulate oral presentations and written reports.
Effective analysis skills to evaluate needs and issues objectively.
Clear and concise communication skills, both orally and in writing.
Excellent relationship-building skills with children, students, parents, staff, administration, and the general public.
Minnesota Teaching license.
Thorough knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures of special education and specialty area.
Thorough knowledge of school division rules, regulations, and procedures.

Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
