SUMMARY:
Responsible for the installation of new equipment and the repair and maintenance of all Company machinery, buildings, grounds, and utility systems, in compliance with all local, state and federal regulations and Company policy.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Plan and execute preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance programs, schedule inspections and overhaul equipment. Use EAM software to manage department PM histories and purchases.
2. Oversee the training process of employees on new job assignments.
3. Review technical papers, catalogs and other reference materials and confers with equipment sales representatives to select or recommend new supplies and equipment to improve plant operations.
4. Requisition and purchase departmental tools, equipment and supplies as required within approved budget. Identify critical items and maintain inventory of spare parts through the tools available in MLS inventory module.
5. Inspect completed work for conformance to specifications.
6. Maintain buildings and grounds in acceptable condition.
7. Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment for all employees. Instruct subordinates in safe work practices and enforces plant safety rules. Set a proper example by using appropriate safety equipment and adhering to safe work practices. Investigate and report on industrial injuries as they occur, and recommend ways of preventing additional injuries.
8. Responsible for maintaining positive employee morale and working within the scope of company contracts and polices and procedures.
9. Monitor all OSHA inspections including crane, lift truck, fire extinguishers, etc.
10. Review processes and make recommendations for process improvements.
11. Perform other related duties as assigned.
12. Evaluate equipment for suitability to our processes.
13. Work with outside suppliers and contractors to coordinate completion of projects.
14. Conduct employee training as needed. This could include lock-out/tag-out, forklift, crane and other related topics.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise skilled hourly maintenance employees as well as employees involved in janitorial and grounds keeping work.
TRAVEL:
Required to travel to other Morrison Products, Inc. facilities, training seminars and equipment suppliers.
CONFIDENTIALITY:
Limited or incidental access to confidential information, except corporate income and profit figures.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Over 3 years.
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Journey status in a specialized or technical field desirable. Familiar with manufacturing methods.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Good communication skills, both verbal and written. To excel in the job the employee must be a self starter.
