PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Payment Systems Specialist is responsible for processing and monitoring Electronic Check inclearing files, check exceptions and adjustments; Reconciliation of Fed Forward file presentments i.e. branch and ATM check deposits; along with a variety of other administrative duties and functions, that support overall electronic check processing, as well as, the Payment Systems Services Team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
The position’s essential duties include the following:

Monitor receipt of incoming Draft presentment files; validate file totals.

Review and edit prior day’s Draft unposted/exception items; rerun edited exceptions file.

Reconcile Unposted Items (nonsufficient funds, stop payment, uncollected, etc.) file to Fed totals.

Review Large Dollar Draft presentments; send return notifications and make appropriate account adjustments as necessary.

Monitor receipt of incoming Return Deposit Items (RDI) file; make adjusting entries; notify designated team members and department heads.

Run program to process return item adjustments for FICS, HELOC, and VISA check returns.

Monitor branch teller and ATM check deposit scanning for accuracy, i.e. micr-line errors, keying differences, bundle closures; notify appropriate branch to correct scanning issues.

Receive and scan Back Office check remittance items.

Reconcile all branch check deposits (e.g. teller, ATM), prepare file for transmission to Fed.

Research and process member reported and incoming Fed draft-clearing differences or adjustments.

Process and complete domestic and foreign check collections.

Monitor receipt of and processing of miscellaneous Seg-Group employee payrolls.

Serve as Disaster Recovery Support Team Member as required.

Provide departmental support for inquiry queues.
- Maintain production-tracking logs pertaining to electronic check processing.

Participate in special projects, cross-training assignments and other duties as assigned, complete within established deadlines.

Remain cognizant of electronic check regulatory and industry changes and adhere to Andrews Federal policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Acts.
EDUCATION
- High School diploma, GED equivalent, or higher.
LENGTH OF REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

Requires two to three years of financial institution experience, preferably in ACH, Check and Back Office Electronic Payment Processing.
- Basic mathematical skills required.
- Candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite Products and spreadsheet skills.
- High attention to detail, accuracy & high quality a must.
- The position requires excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Requires the ability to sit at a desk and computer for extended periods of time. Requires the usage of a 10-key calculator and computer keyboard.
