Job purpose
The Assistant Golf Professional will promote an exceptional "golf experience" by providing excellent services and programs to all Members and their sponsored guests.
The Assistant Golf Professional Duties shall include but are not limited to: supervising outside service staff, assist with tournament operations, assist with golf instruction, help with merchandising and ordering, assisting with club events and growing the membership base along with player development programs.
Duties and responsibilities
Assist the Director of Golf in managing the facility in an efficient, high-quality, service-oriented manner; Spread hospitality and goodwill among Members, guests, and co-workers.
Assume management duties for golf shop operations in absence of Director of
Golf for a minimum of 3 weekly shifts to be determined by the Director of Golf;
Assist in supervision of Outside Services Staff.
Inspect and monitor the course, which includes regulating speed of play, marking ground under repair, inspecting all course markings, and tee and hole positions.
Answer phones in timely, warm, helpful manner, take reservations, greet members when arriving, check them in for golf, order bags, and start play on course; track and verify all players and guests, golf cars, club care, lockers, handicap fees, and other charges necessary, and facilitate proper controls.
Perform various Golf Shop opening and closing procedures directed by
Accounting, General Manager and Director of Golf.
Assist in golf retail merchandise concessions to include ordering, purchasing, receiving, display, pricing, selling and inventory control. Stay current on industry trends and new products.
Provide instruction for Member and their sponsored guests which may include private lessons, group lessons and playing lessons. Responsible for developing golf instruction and golfer development programs and services for Members.
Assist with tournament set up operations and all tournament functions, Junior
Camps and PGA/LPGA instructional programs, golf clinics & lessons.
Assist in the marketing and promotion of new Memberships/play.
Provide service in the area of club repair, competently fit golf equipment for
Members and sponsored guests.
Enforce all Club rules and regulations governing Member and guest golf policies with diplomacy.
Maintain adequate First Aid and CPR certification.
Represent Oakmont Country Club with the utmost professionalism at all times.
Be aware of the image one projects regarding tone, attitude, and helpfulness.
Maintain neat dress, grooming and personal appearance.
Promote Oakmont Country Club with knowledgeable information of all Club Golf
Programs and Member/Guest Policies. Must maintain a congenial rapport with all those he/she encounters to ensure our Members and guests receive world- class service

Qualifications
Education and Certifications:
Active PGA/LPGA Member or Level 1 or higher PGA/LPGA Apprentice in good standing working towards full membership (Preferred)
Knowledge of USGA rules, handicap, course rating system, and the mechanics of the golf swing.
AED / CPR Certification a plus. (Preferred)
Required Skills:
Candidates should posses experience in staff supervision, golf instruction, customer service, and computer skills (MS Word & Excel) including POS systems.
Passion for the game of Golf.
Outstanding oral (in person and on phone) and written communication skills.
Planning and organizational ability.
Punctual; Self-Starter; Possess a strong work ethic; High attention to detail;
Consistent producer day in and day out.
Work outside for extended periods.
Carry golf bags and other items up to 50 pounds.
Maintain a well-groomed professional appearance with no visible tattoos.
Work early mornings, days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
