This position is for the OR/Surgery only.
1 weekend rotation every two months and 1 holiday per year.

Pay Rate: $26.57-$43.76 hourly
Job Summary
The radiographer performs diagnostic radiological examinations under the guidance of the provider; assists physicians with radiological procedures; prepares examinations for interpretation, maintains radiation safety, and assists with maintaining supplies.
Under the direction of the Registered Nurse, performs delegated duties to assist in the treatment and care of the patient in accordance with the established FMC policies, procedures and guidelines. Provides technical support to OR staff in the planning, preparation of equipment and supplies for surgical procedures. Track supplies, equipment usage/returns via the bar code system. Has the ability to perform basic sterile technique.
- Performs and Documents diagnostic, radiographic examinations upon the order of an approved healthcare provider
- Performs appropriate handoff and continuity of care communication to the next caregiver
- analyzes radiographic examinations for quality control purposes
- prepares completed exams for interpretation by the radiologist
- operates all the radiological equipment and necessary facility based computer systems
- Participates in Quality Assurance activities as related to radiographic care within the Surgery/Imaging Department.
- Transports, moves, and positions patents in a safe and appropriate manner. assist in room “turnover” which includes cleaning of surgical equipment, or table, floors, and disposing of any contaminated materials according to policy and procedure. Assists in basic set up activities as assigned.

Job Expectations and Responsibilities (under the direction of the registered nurse):
- Expert in the names and location of surgical equipment and supplies. performs barcode scanning process as needed assures case carts are complete. Prepares OR suite with appropriate equipment for the day and Acts as a “runner” for or suites needing additional equipment/supplies.
- Proactively reviews or schedule for week/day. anticipates any special needs. identifies low quantity stock. Effectively communicates with service line leaders in developing and maintaining par levels. review stock usage and expirations.
- communicates with schedulers, inventory coordinators and supervisors any constraints that apply to the scheduling system/process regarding loaners, repairs, special request and the time element involved.
- take weekend/holiday call on a rotational basis.
- Provides support to main Surgery and cardiac anesthesia as needed. retrieves any surgical or anesthesia equipment/supplies that are anticipated and/or requested.
- assist with daily anesthesia machine checks. ensures the machine is ready for use including troubleshooting and correcting problems as needed.
- Collects specimens and delivers them to the requested area.
- enhances positive relations with all customers including patients, families, co-workers, and staff in other departments. as a representative of the center, demonstrates responsibility and accountability for enhancing positive interactions and for diffusing negative interactions.

Job Qualifications
Education: Associate Degree in radiologic technology from AMA approved school
Licensure/Certification: Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Institute (ARRT). Maintains licensure requirements with the State of Ohio. Maintains annual CPR certification/ When Seconds count certification.
Experience: Previous staff radiographer and surgical/ procedural experience preferred.

Working knowledge of computer programs. Excellent communication skills, and the ability to establish working relationships with internal and external customers. Strong organizational skills. Critical thinking skills and the ability to make independent decisions.
Physical Capacity Demand
Heavy Work: Exerting 50-100 pounds of force occasionally and/or 25-50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10-20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.
