Lead Group Teacher Responsibility and Duties:
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities for Infants' and Toddlers' Classrooms.
- Create a nurturing and stimulating classroom environment that promotes exploration, discovery, learning and development.
- Provide a variety of opportunities for Infants and Toddlers to explore and engage in hands-on learning experiences.
- Foster social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through play-based activities.
- Facilitate teacher-interactive activities in which the Infants' and Toddlers' teacher will be directly interacting and engaged with each Infant and Toddler individually (Curricular Goals).
- Accountable and responsible for developmentally appropriate practices in which early learners will be assessed in a variety of Multi-Sensory activities to support individual Cognitive Skills and Motor Skills development.
- Monitor and assess each Infant's and Toddler's milestone progress indicator level through DAILY observation(s), multi-sensory assessment, and provide feedback to parents/guardians.
- Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
- Adhere to guidelines in accordance to the Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale®, Revised (ECERS-R™), specifically Classroom Space and Furnishings, Personal Care Routines, Language, Reasoning, Activities, Interaction, Program Structure, Assessment, etc.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive and positive learning environment.
Lead Group Teacher Qualifications:
- Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education with a New Jersey Infant/Toddler Credential or a VALID NON-EXPIRED Child Development Associate (CDA) credential endorsement from the New Jersey Registry for Childhood Professionals (NJCCIS/NJ Registry) is preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education (or, related field) with a New Jersey Infant/Toddler Credential or a VALID NON-EXPIRED Child Development Associate (CDA) credential from the New Jersey Registry for Childhood Professionals (NJCCIS/NJ Registry) is preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education (or, related field) with a Preschool through Grade 3 (P-3) Certificate of Eligibility (CE) credential (endorsement code 1013) from The State of New Jersey, Department of Education, State Board of Examiners is preferred for novice teacher applicants.
- Group Teacher or Head Teacher Option endorsement from the New Jersey Registry for Childhood Professionals (NJCCIS/NJ Registry).
- Knowledge of early care and childhood development, principles, theories, and age-appropriate best practices in early childhood education.
- Experience in lesson planning and curriculum development delivery, specifically for Infants and Toddlers.
- Familiarity with licensing requirements under Chapter 52 - MANUAL OF REQUIREMENTS FOR CHILD CARE CENTERS (N.J.A.C. 3A:52).
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with children, parents, and staff.
- Experience working with students who may require Early Intervention or additional support.
- Familiarity and ability to support behavior effectively using positive reinforcement techniques, i.e. applied behavior analysis (ABA), early intensive behavioral intervention (EIBI).
- Passion for educating young children and promoting their overall well-being.
