We are looking for talented educators and volunteers who love Jesus and children, are passionate about the Truth, are called to teach and who have a desire to teach a Classical Christian curriculum.
This role will report directly to the Head of School.
SUMMARY-OBJECTIVE AND PURPOSE
This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to lead the opening and launch of Grace Point Academy Preschool. GPA Preschool will open in the fall of 2024 with a morning Preschool program for ages 3 – Pre-Kindergarten. The Preschool Director seeks to glorify God in serving the school in the development of this new program offered to our youngest students.
Start date: Spring 2024 (10 hours per week to start and then increasing to 20 hours per week in mid-summer 2024)
Pay Rate: $1,200/month through July 2024; then $2,000/month; This position is year-round.
Responsibilities:
The Preschool Director will work closely with the Head of School to develop all operational and educational processes for the launch of Grace Point Academy Preschool. This individual supports the mission of Grace Point Academy and Grace Point Northwest Church. This individual will serve on the Leadership team of Grace Point Academy. This person has the passion and skill to successfully launch a spiritually-nurturing, developmentally appropriate preschool.
In cooperation with the Head of School, this person will develop systems and processes for the smooth operation of a high-quality Christian preschool. The expectations during the spring and summer of 2024 will include, but is not limited to, the following tasks:
- Provide vision and guidance to preschool staff, parents and children.
- Develop a well-written Preschool Handbook for families.
- Create the necessary forms and schedules for the new Preschool.
- Assist with hiring the Preschool staff.
- Work closely with GPA Administration to enroll Preschool students.
- Conduct marketing efforts in cooperation with the procedures outlined by GPA Administration
- Order furniture, curriculum and supplies for the Preschool.
- Plan for a welcoming and nurturing launch of the preschool in September 2024
- Conduct Preschool Teacher training in August and provide leadership to the new Preschool staff
After successful launch of the Grace Point Academy Preschool, this position will provide leadership and guidance for the preschool department and may also serve as a Lead Teacher during school year 2024-25.
Regular Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Head of School to support and implement the values and mission of Grace Point Academy by leading the preschool well.
- Foster and facilitate a distinctly Christian and Classical school culture at the preschool level and with the preschool staff.
- Work with the Head of School to implement the preschool curriculum, that prepares students for Kindergarten at Grace Point Academy, and ultimately, fosters a lifelong love of learning.
- Collaborate with grade level teams and department members to plan and implement the school’s classical curriculum.
- Actively ensure social, emotional and developmental growth in every student
- Build partnership with preschool parents through proactive communication.
- Create a predictable and supportive classroom environment.
- Participate in collaborative evaluation processes with the other department heads and the Head of School.
- Attend school events outside regular school hours including, but not limited to: Parent/teacher conferences, curriculum night, arts performances, student socials, open houses, & professional development sessions.
- Ensure a hospitable and inviting experience for all inquiring families through the enrollment and admissions process
- Manage all disciplinary matters involving students and work closely with the Head of School in the event of an escalation of any issues.
- Serve as the spiritual leader of the preschool staff and students; be a model of Godly character and conduct.
- Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience and Education:
- BA degree preferably in Early Childhood Education; AA with equivalent experience may be considered.
- Currently held CPR/AED/First Aid Certification or arrangements made to obtain certification within 90 days of employment start date.
- Applicants will be required to undergo a thorough Background Check and Drug Test.
