Job Overview:
This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations and standards. This position will play a crucial role in promoting a safe and healthy work environment for all employees and minimizing our environmental impact. This position is accountable for collaborating with various departments to enforce safety regulations, conduct inspections, and provide expertise in managing hazardous materials and preventing incidents. This role will also involve investigating accidents, analyzing data, and recommending improvements to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies and procedures, and ensure that HSE programs are comprehensive, up-to-date, and aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular HSE inspections and audits. Identify potential hazards and risks, assess compliance with HSE regulations, and implement corrective actions.
- Investigate incidents and accidents. Determine root causes, recommend preventive measures, and track corrective actions to completion to prevent recurrence.
- HSE training and awareness programs: Develop engaging training materials, deliver training sessions (including new hire orientation), and promote a strong safety culture within the organization.
- Analyze and manage HSE KPIs/data (TRIR, Observations, incidents, inspections, training etc.) to identify trends and areas for improvement. Prepare reports and presentations on HSE performance for management and regulatory agencies.
- Maintain accurate HSE records and documentation.
- Stay informed about new and emerging HSE regulations and standards and ensure that the organization remains compliant and proactive in addressing HSE risks.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate HSE into all aspects of operations: Work with management, employees, and external stakeholders to promote a safe and healthy work environment.
- Develop emergency response plans and procedures to address potential workplace emergencies (fires, chemical spills, etc.).
- Other duties, consistent with the post-holder’s skills and competencies, may be assigned.
Qualifications, Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Administration and/or Technical field preferred. 6-8 years relevant experience may be substituted for degree.
- 3 years experience as an HSE Specialist or similar role in industrial or manufacturing settings.
- Certification as Auditor for ISO 18001 and/or 14001 is a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and environmental standards.
- Experience in the implementation and continuous enforcement of systems and methodologies to drive continuous improvements and achievement of company objectives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, document management systems, ERP systems and other relevant software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Currently eligible to work in the United States.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

- Physical requirements are those typically found in an office environment and light manufacturing work.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Safety glasses and other PPE as required in manufacturing areas.
Location and Work Environment:
- This position is located in Houston.
- Travel to third party offices, suppliers sites, and customer sites as needed to support company operations and interface with external stakeholders.

Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
