SUMMARY: Under the guidance of a registered nurse, a patient care assistant will care for and comfort individuals who are ill, undergoing surgery or disabled.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs nursing assistant and clerical duties in collaboration with the Registered Nurse to assure safe and quality care of patients

Perform basic administrative duties including printing, copying, and filing patient records.

Assist in bathing, dressing, and feeding patients and perform other oral and personal care activities.

Change bed linens and maintain patient room clean and safe.

Shift patients in and out of wheelchairs as needed.

Transfer and position patients when necessary.

Monitor patient’s physical and behavioral changes and report any unusual situations to Supervisor.

Record patient’s blood pressures, temperature, pulse, respiration, and weight on regular basis.

Ensure safety and quality in patient services and maintain confidentiality of patient medical records.

Assess patient’s health improvements and accordingly update medical records.

High school diploma, or equivalent GED, certification as patient care assistant, nursing assistant, certified emergency medical technician or paramedic
- Current BLS certification
- One year of patient care experience
- Certified as Medical Assistant or Nurse assistant.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
