Summary:
Develops, coordinates, and implements EMS education programs -that fulfills the requirements mandated by the California Office of Emergency Medical Services and the Solano County Office of Emergency Medical Services (both didactic and clinical) in regards to training, education, orientation and performance of employees.
Supervise and Train EMS faculty and compile the curriculum.
Interacts with local fire departments, hospitals, convalescent homes, personal care homes and schools in regards to education programs.
Note: This position requires occasional travel between facilities in a company provided vehicle. Applicants must be insurable by our vehicle insurance carrier.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops the curriculum for, arranges class schedules, and implements primary and continuing education emergency medical programs, community education programs and school educational programs.
- Acts as liaison with agents of other entities who conduct training programs.
- Includes all local, state, and national requirements in the curriculum, upon request.
- Updates the curriculum as warranted in conjunction with the employer Medical Director.
- Oversees and participates in patient care in the process of training or ensuring license retention.
- Maintains records related to the program and its participants and compiles reports as needed.
- Maintains contact with other professionals in the field to share information concerning patient treatment techniques.
- Performs other duties as assigned or as the situation dictates within the scope of this classification.
- Attends EMS/Hospital meetings.
- Other miscellaneous duties as requested by management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Minimum 2 years full time experience as a Paramedic
- Effective administrative skills (paperwork, time management) , written and verbal communication skills.
- Posses a valid California driver's license, ambulance driver's license, and medical examiner's certificate.
- Possess a valid California Paramedic License.
- Possess Instructor Status in the following: BLS, ACLS, PALS, ITLS or PHTLS, PEPP, AMLS, EVOC
