Job Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential care and support to individuals in need. The ideal candidate will have experience in social work, dementia care, long-term care, and working with people with developmental disabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
- Administer medications as prescribed by healthcare professionals
- Monitor and report changes in clients' health or behavior
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding if necessary
- Help with light housekeeping tasks
- Implement behavior management techniques when needed
Requirements:
- Previous experience in patient care, assisted living, senior care, or related field
- Knowledge of direct support practices for individuals with diverse needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle challenging behaviors with patience and empathy
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required
