You will start at $12.50/hour (including tips) during training. As you learn you will be moved up to $13/hour (including tips). Once your training period is done, you will move to $14 (including tips). Training is typically 60 days, however if you have experience it will be faster. We share tips equally amongst employees, Camp Bow Wow guarantees the first $2/hour worked. This means that if you are making $11/hour you are guaranteed $13/hour. ($2/hour in tips) We offer health insurance (medical, dental and vision) after 90 days for full time employees. After 90 days you will begin to accrue PTO. We also offer a 401k with match for employees after a year of service.
Camp Bow Wow® provides a fun, safe and upscale environment for dogs to play all day while receiving lots of love and attention! We provide dog Day Camp for parents to drop their dogs off in the morning and pick them up in the evening, as well as overnight boarding for travelers.
We are looking for mature, responsible people who want to work with dogs. We carefully screen potential employees to ensure the continuation of excellent service while providing a safe and fun environment. Please read below carefully to get a realistic view of what's involved when working in a dog daycare facility such as ours.
Dependability and punctuality are an absolute must. The dogs and your coworkers are counting on you to arrive for all of your scheduled shifts, despite weather or any other factors. We have different shifts available. 6-1, 9-5 and 1-8. We do work weekends and holidays.
If you do not have a genuine love towards animals, this is not the place for you. It is physically demanding and mentally challenging. If you do not truly love dogs, it will quickly become evident. We are seeking people who are mature enough to understand and accept the responsibility of caring for other people's "children." This job can be a lot of fun and very rewarding, but it is not sitting around and playing with puppies all day.
The dogs need to be cleaned up after, which involves handling a lot of poop and pee. They have to be fed the right food and given the right medications.
Behavior must be closely monitored at all times to ensure a safe environment for everyone. You cannot be afraid of dogs. While working here you may be exposed to: excrement, loud noises and the occasional scratches or bruises that come from being around excited dogs. Cleaning is a major part of every position at the daycare. You will be on your feet for the majority of your shift. You cannot be allergic to animals. You must have your own reliable transportation.
******The Camp Counselor's Role at Camp Bow Wow includes******
-Caring for dogs of all breeds and sizes in our daycare, all-day play environment.
-Maintaining a clean environment, the cleaning is physically demanding
-Ensuring the safety of all of our Campers by following strict operations policies.
-Managing dogs in your care to proactively avoid any scuffles in the play yards.
-Cleaning up dog waste in play yards immediately
-Ensuring familiarity with all dog's names and personalities.
-Making sure all dogs are monitored for any cuts or scrapes while at play.
-Standing on your feet all day long and cleaning. It is a very labor-intensive environment.
-Being in view of cameras and comfortable with dogs of all sizes.
-Ensuring Timeline and Daily Checklist gets done in timely manner.
-Communicating effectively with peers and leadership.
-Demonstrating a positive, fun attitude with team mates
Details: 20-40 Hours/Week. Starting at an hourly rate of $12.50 per hour for the training period and reviews given every 6 months and pay increases with experience.
