Purpose:
Joe’s paint and floor store provide a seamless start to finish consultative design service that builds lasting relationships and brand loyalty with the customers we serve. Designers at Joe’s paint and floor store are responsible for meeting with customers, listening to their project needs, educating them on all that is required for their project, and building a creative design concept that incorporates the customers personal style, lifestyle, and budget.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements
- Minimum of One (1) year of interior design experience
- Knowledge in blinds and flooring is required
- Degree in Design is a plus
- Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus
- Proficient in basic mathematical skills
- Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite
- Internal candidates must have 12 months of experience in a design consultant position
Essential Functions
Employees primary responsibility will be:
Design and sell complete, functional and aesthetically appealing solutions
- This is a retail store position we sell a wide variety of home decor options
1. (Flooring brands) like Shaw, Mohawk, Karastan, Masland , Couristan, dream weaver, various tile companies and other specialty flooring
2. (Window fashion) from Hunter Douglas and grabber

- Greet store customers in a helpful manner and supports store design walk-in needs
- Schedule design appointments for existing and potential customers, while developing clientele through networking and referrals, as well as leads generated within the store
- Providing tile, wood, stone, blinds, wallpaper, paint schemes, and accessories advice to homeowners, interior designers, and builders for both residential and commercial projects.
- Manage multiple, simultaneous customer projects through all phases with a high level of accuracy, timeliness and follow-up including consistent and concise communication to customers and others. Proficient and consistent use of company communication tools and emails are required
- Collaborate, partner and communicate with store leadership and employees to manage projects from inquiry to installation, and achieve sales and other goals
- Enthusiastically support all company initiatives and goals by modeling and coaching best practices with store employees
- Engage in current and emerging design trends in your market
Employee shall perform such other duties as are customarily performed by other persons in similar positions, including other duties as may arise from time to time and as may be assigned.
Working Conditions (travel, hours, environment)
- Limited travel may be required by car
- No work required on Sundays

Pay: $19.50 - $25.00 per hour
