Safety Coordinator Roles and Responsibilities
The safety specialist will report to the EHS Manager, His tasks will include, but are not limited to:
Assisting with hazard analysis of job sites
Assisting with scope of work/hazard mitigation in planning
Equipment inspection
Inventory management
Competent person during Working from Heights operations
Gas monitoring calibration and training
Confined space operation planning and execution
Permit validation and accuracy
Field Auditing and on the spot corrections
Assist with the mentorship program and efficiency ratings
Act as a liaison from field operators to management for safety concerns
Assist in creating training plans and validation programs
Revise and update Site Safety Plans in accordance with the Host Site Safety representatives
Assist with the respiratory protection program — training and compliance
Develop Exposure Assessment Mitigation plans (based on site and hazards) Inspect; test* and evaluate workplace environments, programs, equipment, and practices to ensure that they follow government safety regulations
Design and implement workplace programs and procedures that control or prevent chemical, physical, or other risks to workers
-A Educate employers and workers about maintaining workplace safety
Demonstrate use of safety equipment and ensure proper use by workers
Investigate incidents to determine the cause and possible prevention
Present Toolbox talks and assist with tracking/data management Prepare written reports of findings
The safety specialist must be able to work independently and be self-driven, He must be able to make on the spot corrections and relay these findings to management through audits and reports. He will assist with choosing and enforcing proper PPE and permit/SPA compliance.
The safety specialist will make unannounced site visits to all locations to ensure compliance with all applicable safety standards and acceptable practices. He will attend safety council meetings when appropriate and keep up to date with all safety and training requirements/regulations.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
