Program Coordinator (Museum Tour Guide, Scheduler):
Tuckerton Seaport Museum is visited by over 6,000 students each year-join our team to welcome these young learners with hand-on experiences both on land and on water!
This position is Part-Time, on-site, and year-round.
Tuckerton Seaport & Baymen’s Museum, located at the center of the Jersey Shore, is looking to add to its active education team to meet the evolving needs of the community it serves. The qualified candidate will be responsible for scheduling and conducting hands-on folklife-inspired field trips for students of every age and ability as well as creating educational materials and providing program support. The candidate will conduct guided tours both on land and on water aboard of 30 foot pontoon boat Floating Classroom. At the Seaport, students climb a replica Lighthouse, meet folk artists and watch them in action, and enjoy narrated tours aboard our floating classroom pontoon boat on Tuckerton Creek.
The candidate will be responsible for coordination and support of all education/folklife programs by updating the website, preparing promotional flyers, and providing day of logistical support for a variety of programs and classes. The qualified candidate will be responsible for providing logistical support with folklife and educational programs and tours held at the museum. The candidate will coordinate scheduling and act as a contact person for the organization as well as update website calendars and the ticketing system. The candidate will work closely with folk artists and local schools. The Program Coordinator will also create and host programs and tours both on land and aboard the floating classroom pontoon boat. The Program Coordinator will also assist with Guest Services at this museum as well as opening and closing program spaces. The Program Coordinator will represent Tuckerton Seaport at community events held offsite occasionally. The candidate will be part of the guest services team. Familiarity with the coastal culture of the Jersey Shore and ease in adjusting your plans when the wind is out of the west is also a must.

Schedule: Typically, Saturday, Sunday, Monday 9am-5pm with flexibility to cover tours/programs as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
- BA, preferred in Education, Folklife, Art, Cultural Anthropology, Anthropology, Sustainability, or a related field
- Experience coordinating programs in schools or museums preferred
- Experience Scheduling
- Experience leading tour groups
- Museum or nonprofit experience preferred
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Experience designing materials in Canva and using Word Press preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Above all, a willingness to learn and grow in the position
