ABC Learning Center is now hiring a Director who can lead a vibrant team, design a learning program, oversee daily activities, manage budgets, and provide a safe, loving environment to children and families!
Our directors typically do the following:
- Supervise teachers and other school staff
- Hire and train new staff members
- Work from 40-50 hours per week
- Provide training and professional development opportunities for staff
- Establish policies and communicate them to staff and parents
- Develop educational programs and set educational standards
- Help staff resolve conflicts between children
- Assist staff in communicating with parents
- Meet with parents and staff to discuss students’ progress
- Establish budgets and set fees for programs
- Ensure facilities are maintained and cleaned according to state regulations
The skills listed below are what we love to see from our Directors. All skills are perfected with proper training, practice, support, and patience! Our Higher Management team is committed to providing our wonderful Directors exactly that.
Business skills. A Director is expected to manage their school budget, revenue, and profits.
Communication skills. A Director will be in constant communication with staff, families, and children. Communication should be friendly, professional, and intentional.
Interpersonal skills. A Director must be able to develop good relationships with parents, children, and co-workers.
Leadership skills. A Director must supervise staff while inspiring the team to do their best!
Organizational skills. A Director must maintain clear and accurate records about students and staff. In addition, you must be able to multitask when multiple people or situations require your attention.
Directors must ensure that their programs, staff, and facilities meet state and federal guidelines. For example, they must ensure that the staff meets the educational requirements set by the Department of Health and Human Services.
Key Requirements:
- Must have at least 45 college credits of early childhood education
- Must be 18+
- Have at least 2 years experience in a licensed early learning classroom
- Have at least 6 months of Supervisory, Administrative, or Management experience in a licensed early learning program
