Omni Technologies, LLC is a leading provider of low voltage services in southern Wisconsin, specializing in the design and implementation of fire alarm, security, nurse call, and audio-video systems.
A Low Voltage Technician plays a crucial role in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems operating at low voltage levels.
Job Responsibilities:
Installation, Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
Install electrical wiring and equipment according to building plans, and other specifications.
Maintain records of all work performed, documenting maintenance, repairs, and installations.
Troubleshoot malfunctions when systems aren’t working correctly. (repair, replace parts or upgrades, etc.)
Test systems to verify safety and efficiency by measuring voltage, resistance, and amperage levels.
Specialized Systems:
Program alarm systems via programmer or keypad.
Qualifications:
1-3 years’ experience in electrical knowledge and understanding of low-voltage systems and a desire to constantly improve skills and learn new things.
Good Work Ethic: Your commitment to quality work and attention to detail will ensure reliable system installations.
Strong Communication Skills: Effective communication with team members, project managers and customers is essential for successful coordination and problem solving.
Independence and Teamwork: Balancing independence with collaboration allow you to handle tasks efficiently while contributing to the team.
Work Environment:
Low voltage technicians work in various settings, including office buildings, schools, hospitals/clinics and on new-construction sites.
Requirements:
Must have a valid driver’s license.
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Clean driving record, obey all applicable traffic laws, and drive in accordance with weather/road conditions.
Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50 lbs.
Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult position such as climbing ladders, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and background check required.
