EnviroStaff is recruiting an Industrial Hygiene Project Manager to join a leading Chicago-based Environmental, Health and Safety Consulting firm. We are seeking an individual who has their Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Asbestos Inspector, Project Manager and/or Air Sampling Professional Licenses and 5 to 10 years’ experience in the Asbestos, Lead and Hazardous Materials Industry.
In this role you will be responsible for providing state of the art asbestos, lead, and hazardous materials inspection services. As well as assisting in designing asbestos/lead abatement projects. During projects you will be collecting samples as required by various regulatory agencies, complete data sheets, chain of custody forms, and prepare samples for shipment to laboratory. Perform asbestos and lead project management and air monitoring/analysis per IDPH regulations during on-going abatement projects. You will oversee maintaining daily logs of activities related to project work as well as project oversight and coordination with contractors. You will be the face of the company regarding projects by interacting and communicating with clients, contractors, and regulatory agency representatives. You must have the ability to operate and maintain instruments including sampling pumps, calibrators/rotometers, and microscopes.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma required.
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences, Occupational Health and Safety or other relevant majors, is a plus.
- 5 years' experience performing asbestos and lead inspection / industrial hygiene sampling.
- IDPH Asbestos/Lead Inspector, Project Manager and Air Sampling Professional Licenses
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and/or blueprints.
- Be able to wear a respirator, safety harness and other safety equipment as needed.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, physical and motor vehicle records check as well as be entered into a random testing program.
