The Role:
The Supervising Nurse will provide leadership and guidance in developing and maintaining nursing standards and enhancing the delivery of essential services to our patient population within the Southwest CT Mental Health System and the TRP unit.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Provide substantial input regarding patient care needs, response to treatment, and recommend modifications in the overall plan of care.
- Complete comprehensive Initial Nursing Assessment for patients with acute psychiatric and addictive problems.
- Provide direct patient care that includes education, counseling, medication administration and documentation of the treatment and progress made by the patient.

The vision of the Southwest Connecticut Mental Health System is to provide high quality, compassionate and culturally competent mental health and substance abuse services to adults with behavioral health disorders who are indigent.
Transitional Residence Program (TRP): TRP provides short-term housing for homeless individuals, incorporating rehabilitative programming. TRP is an open residential program that provides supported living services, including medication monitoring, 24 hours a day until the consumer is ready for community re-entry. TRP also provides skill building groups, outings in the community, three meals a day, and laundry facilities. TRP staff work collaboratively with all services within the Community Services Division in an effort to support the consumer to get back into housing in their community.
