**THIS POSITION MAY REQUIRE UP TO 50% TRAVEL.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Ensure ongoing company compliance with Federal, State, and local Health & Safety laws and regulations.
- Proactively work alongside both our (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) SHEQ Manager, Warehouse Managers & Field Operational Leads to develop a generative health & safety culture, and to ensure that we meet both company requirements and those of our clients.
- Promote a culture whereby our staff look for opportunities to improve and elevate our approach to health, safety and wellbeing.
- Promote awareness through organizing safety campaigns, communicating safety messages, and encouraging employee engagement in safety initiatives.
- Identify training needs and work in partnership with our dedicated Training Coordinators to ensure that training is delivered.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of our warehouse facilities and work alongside our Warehouse Managers to adopt both a compliant and best practice approach.
- Investigate incidents, near misses and accidents, and work in collaboration with the SHEQ Manager & HR Lead to identify strategies to prevent recurrence and ensure compliance with Workers Compensation.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional or Occupational Health & Safety Technician.
- Strong knowledge of local, national, and industry specific health and safety regulations and standards, including OSHA.
- Familiarity with hazard identification, risk assessment, and incident investigation methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and interact with stakeholders at all levels.
- Detail oriented with strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Proficient in using computer applications and software for safety documentation, reporting, and OSHA record-keeping.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license with willingness to travel as required.
This position can be remote, but ideally the candidate will be based at either our Austin or Hayward facilities. Travel will be required for this position.
