Job Description
This position is primarily responsible for maintaining equipment in and related to plastic injection molding manufacturing. The position includes an on the job training regimen to facilitate the increase of knowledge and experience in the field.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Performs routine preventive maintenance and emergency mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical maintenance on production systems and equipment, using the help and direction of the maintenance staff, Manager and manuals. This includes, electronic, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Trouble shoots, repairs, aligns, calibrates, inspects and tests a variety of production systems and equipment.
- Disassembles machines and parts and adjust, repairs or replaces defective parts and materials.
- Maintains appropriate maintenance and repairs logs via our online system.
- Learns all aspects of machine maintenance and becomes cross-trained in all areas of manufacturing and assembly.
- Requisition of parts to be handled through the maintenance team.
- Abide by and support all company safety and quality programs and initiatives.
- Other responsibilities may be assigned from time to time as needed, based on the current needs of the company and the requirements of the department.
- Ability to clearly and intelligently communicate in verbal and written form.
- Ability to lift and move items up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to stand/walk for up to 12 hours a shift.
- Ability to climb up and down ladders.
- Ability to push and pull items.
Required Skills
- Must be able to handle stressful/pressure situations in a professional matter. Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic schematics. Minimum experience in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, diagnosis and repair. Ability to read and write English, interpret documents such as technical manuals, safety rules and operating instructions.
- Knowledge and ability to use proper hand tools in the maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
- Must have good math skills.
- Ability to work well with other and promote team work.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, and ability to understand instructions and information as taught.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Basic problem solving skills.
- Must have an understanding of Injection Molding equipment.
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 2+ years of experience in a maintenance role for a manufacturing facility, preferably injection molding.
- Trade certifications preferred but not necessary.
Working Hours
Mon – Fri 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM Typical
Weekend Coverage as necessary
