SUMMARY
This position is responsible for interviewing and processing applicants for all new and current Low Income Housing Tax Credit lease-ups within the Leasing and Marketing department. In this role, the Leasing Associate will screen and processing applicants for affordable housing units. They will conduct various job-related duties in compliance with LIHTC guidelines, other housing contracts and equal housing opportunity laws.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/ JOB DESCRIPTION

Prepare/Send/Track email correspondence to eligible applicants update

Interview Applicants /Collect and review verification documents submitted by applicants for completion and accuracy

Collect and complete all required certification documents pertaining to qualify applicant's households

Perform credit/criminal background checks, determine initial eligibility of applicants and send initial review initial verifications of applicants' housing/income/assets and 3rd party verifications

Income and compliance certify applicants for unit assignment and HDC/HPD/HFA/DHCR/HCR/HOME submission

Perform other related duties as assigned (e.g. unit showings, lease signings, reporting, administrative tasks, prepare subsidy packets, scan and upload initial certification files, prepare final file folders for compliance review and main office delivery etc.)

Daily updating of file tracking sub-log for accurate applicant reporting

Perform data entry for affordable housing lotteries for all new projects by using “NYCHDC Housing Connect 2” website
QUALIFICATIONS
-
Minimum 2+ years affordable housing experiencing work directly with Low Income Housing Tax Credit programs

Good organization, project management and time management abilities

Efficient problem solving and decision making skills

Bi-lingual skills and strong familiarity with of Microsoft Office a plus'
