At Capital Fund 1, we’re in the fast-paced business of real estate lending, specializing in short-term bridge loans. With $750M spread across vibrant markets, we’re on the lookout for a diligent Default Specialist who possesses excellent communication and negotiation skills, is detail-oriented, and thrives in a face-paced environment. The Default Specialist will be responsible for managing and collecting overdue accounts, negotiating payment arrangements, and maintaining positive relationships with customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Account Management:
Contact customers with overdue accounts by phone and email, to discuss payment options and negotiate settlements.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer interactions and payment arrangements.
Negotiation:
Utilize effective negotiation techniques to secure timely payments or create manageable payment plans based on customers' financial situations.
Work with customers to find mutually beneficial solutions while adhering to company policies and procedures.
Customer Relations:
Build and maintain positive relationships with customers to encourage cooperation and facilitate the resolution of outstanding balances.
Address customer inquiries and concerns professionally and in a timely manner.
Account Reconciliation:
Balancing loan transactions to ensure accuracy.
Identifying and resolving discrepancies in account transactions.
Ability to understand and explain payment obligations in lieu of account history.
Ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
Prepare and send collection letters, as needed.
Document all communication and correspondence with customers in the collection system.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations governing company practices.
Stay informed about industry trends and best practices to enhance collection strategies.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in finance or related field is a plus.
Experience:
Proven experience in accounts receivable, customer service or a related field.
Prior real estate experience is not required but is a plus.
Skills:
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Excellent problem-solving abilities.
Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
Proficiency in using loan servicing software and Microsoft Office applications.
Attributes:
Results-driven and motivated to meet and exceed collection targets.
Ability to handle challenging situations with tact and professionalism.
Adaptability to a changing and dynamic work environment.
Salary: $40,000 - $50,000 per year, with the potential for discretionary bonuses that recognize your outstanding contributions.
